(1) Either SUathletics.com no longer gamecasts football games or it does all it can to prevent you from finding it.
(2) Donovan McNabb never threw 5 TDs in a game.

(3) The Orange may have found its third receiver – at tight end. Welcome back Nick Provo and nice to meet you Jose Cruz. Both made significant contributions Saturday and give Ryan Nassib more options in the passing game. Considering it doesn’t look like any of the receivers want to step up and replace Aaron Weaver production from the two tight ends is much needed.
(4) Night games are just more fun. It’s hard to expect the fans to get up for a noon kickoff when the Orange are playing Louisville, let alone Maine and Colgate. But switch that to 7pm and the fans get a full day of drinking and big time college football to pregame around. It seemed to work Saturday. In what looked like a modest sized crowd in the Dome Saturday the fans seemed more energized and louder, especially early in the second half, than they normally otherwise would have been.

(5) I think the Big East is wide open
I think that Syracuse could have a chance at doing some damage in the Big East. I’m certainly not saying that this is a foregone conclusion by any means, especially after the stinker they put up in the first half against Maine. But looking at teams like Cincinnati, Rutgers, Louisville, South Florida and UConn – I see some winnable games. It all depends on which Syracuse team shows up.
(6) I think the running game needs to change, and it needs to change now
Delone Carter has not been getting the job done. He has 247 yards on 59 carries, but that was against the likes of Akron, Washington and Maine. Now, I’m not saying that he is in the same stratosphere as 2009 Heisman winner Mark Ingram, but after 4 carries last week against Duke, he had over 100 yards. When Carter faces Colgate next week, I don’t think 8 yards per carry is too much to ask for. And please, let’s get Bailey some more carries. He averages 5.1 yards per touch. Why aren’t we using him more?

(7) I learned that Syracuse hasn’t left me feeling as good about the team’s progress as I did after three games last season. Naturally that didn’t go over too well with some of our more loyal readers and I can understand that, but one bad performance and one uninspiring performance seems to make the case for me.
(8) I am starting to feel bad for Marcus Sales. Yes he finally got onto the field against Maine but there were no catches out there for him. I don’t know what to make of the situation. Marcus seems to have the right attitude. By all accounts he continues to work hard, hasn’t quit like his teammate a year ago, yet he can’t get on the field. I am not saying this is personal between him and the coaching staff but something doesn’t smell right. How did Marcus Sales all of sudden become our worst WR?

(9) He may have a delightful family, but the Delone Carter bandwagon could get around in a rickshaw these days. The offensive line deserves its share of blame, but Carter hasn’t shown any signs that he can put this team on his back to nurse a lead and ice a Big East victory, something the Orange may need if they hope to win any games in October.
(10) It’s going to take a lot more than a .500 record to draw fans to the Dome. Bud Poliquin noted Monday that the far-below capacity crowd started streaming out in the fourth quarter. Bud makes some fair points, and doesn’t criticize the fans, but it’s clear that he found the behavior somewhat odd, given that fans are desperate for a winner. Given the opponent, I’ll give the fans a pass for this week, but if we’re still in a conference game and the crowd bails early Orange Nation will certainly deserve some criticism.

About #1….
…. suathletics.com is pretty much a radio-feed link site… They hardly ever have a TV Broadcast of either BBall or FBall… just links to Radio streams… which I was told were available for free online… When you add in games available on espn1, espn2, and espn3…. network games, and regional game… and I am going to look long and hard before paying for suathletics.com again….
