Deon Goggins Is Here To Haunt Your Dreams

Kudos to Nolan Weidner who posted some great material on JuCo transfer Deon Goggins.  If first impressions count for anything, then Goggins is bound to quickly become a fan favorite in the Carrier Dome this season.

First of all, he is built like a brick house.  There isn’t a whole lot of him that looks like it needs defining.  At 6’2 and every bit of 285, he has ideal size to work into the defensive tackle rotation almost immediately.  While the downside of a JuCo is the fact that you only get him for 2 years, the clear upside is you get a kid who has had the time to fill out and get his work in the weight room and arrives a more finished product.

Second thing you have to love is his request to wear #13 next season.  Goggins has chosen it because he wants to be unlucky for opposing offenses.  Swagger, in the Carrier Dome?  It has definitely been awhile, but consider me happy to hear it.

I will have the defensive line preview as part of our Football Friday series this week, and you can go ahead and figure that Deon Goggins is going to be prominently involved.
